The Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum is full of historical artifacts, arts, and archival collections, all of which document the Pikes Peak region. The building itself is also historic, and it is on the National Register of Historic Places. The museum is nestled comfortably within Alamo Square Park, and it is also home to the Starsmore Center for Local History. The museum’s collections include artifacts from the Arapahoe, Cheyenne, and Ute cultures, as well as several others. Helen Hunt Jackson’s home is also partially represented in the museum, along with various possessions that she owned. These collections include items that relate to the city’s founding, our mining industry, our military installations, and our health resort industry.
