The National Museum of World War II Aviation was first established in 2008 by its founder, Jim Fry. It was first opened to the public in 2012. The museum documents the role that military aviation played in the emergency of our nation as a massive world power. The museum is full of artifacts from the time, and it demonstrates the incredible technological innovations of the time. The museum also houses actual aircraft from the time period. Its home to 20 fully restored, flying aircraft from the World War II period. Not only that, but the museum is also home to a variety of World War II vehicles, including the Ford GPW, the M3A1 Scout Car, the M2A1 Half Track, and the Chevrolet Airfield Crash Truck. This makes the National Museum of World War II Aviation one of the only museums in Colorado that has fully restored war vehicles and aircraft from the World War II time period!
